The story

Chris Smooth was born in Hollywood, California, into a family that lived for music.

He grew up around instruments and records, and learned early that a DJ’s job isn’t to be seen: it’s to read a room and move it.

For years he was “DJ Smooth”, a name that travelled from clubs in Detroit and Miami to Las Vegas and back home to California, on vinyl and on Rekordbox alike. A family loss took him out of the booth. When he came back, he came back as Chris Smooth, with his heart set on making his own music.

Since 2018 he has released 49 singles, 28 of them since 2023: deep, Afro and tech house built for the floor and written from life. His sound sits where Kaskade, Rufus Du Sol and Depeche Mode meet a house groove. His latest releases are “The Way You Move” and “Drowning in Your Eyes” (2026), and his Smooth House Sessions mixes run on SoundCloud and Mixcloud.

The next chapter is the big stages. EDC and Burning Man are the goal.
